From a Hobby To a Business...
Jen Margetts has been making jewellery ever since she first made her bridesmaid's gifts 11 months ago and has started her own business, Nancemere Jewellery, to sell her beautiful creations. Her jewellery design started as a hobby when she learnt the basics at one of our jewellery making classes, but she soon got addicted to beads. 'I realised I had talent for this medium and having spent a great deal of time teaching myself and attending further classes I have recently been able to launch my jewellery company', Jen says.
She uses various techniques like wire works, illusion, stringing and weaving to create her bespoke jewellery. 'My jewellery is about understanding my client's individuality'. She designs her unique jewellery to suit her client's style, personality and budget. Her range includes ready to wear jewellery as well as special pieces for weddings and gifts.
At the moment Jen is very much into 'anything lustrous' in pinks, bronzes and turquoises. She's always popping into our shop to see what new and exciting we have to offer. 'My main suppliers is the wonderful Red Elephant Bead Shop, mainly because the shop has a superb selection of stock and another reason being; I endeavour to keep my jewellery supply local.'
